In this video, I taste the inmate brew I did a while ago. Also a quick review of a beer that a fellow youtuber bought me. Then I discuss the whole concept behind the video I did in a pub with “takesomeadvice”, the same fellow youtuber. I think there may be some valuable lessins in this video.

Well said. Thank you. Ya, it makes me wonder how much those thugs really know about beer when all they do is poke fun at others instead of staying on topic in the forums.

Don’t sweat the comments on the forums. They don’t seem to understand where you’re coming from which may explain why they can’t come up with anything constructive. I’m a tenured member and have referenced you when someone is sincere about wanting to learn how to brew with a kit.
I love watching the homebrewing videos you and George (mieses2pieces) put out just because you two employee the simplest methods, are humble and enjoy it. How can anyone not respect that?

Hi Craig….I am doing the inmate brew, with 2 different products…Welches grape and the white grape. I didn’t use raisins but substituted Craisins (dried cranberies) but followed your instructions….I opted to try powdered convection sugar since that is what I had. I must say that the fermentation seems great. I’ll let you know how it turns out….. Thanks buddy. Cheers! Jeremy

Exercise. Daily exercise. I have an elliptical exercise machine at home, and I do go to the gym twice a week.

I know this may sound stupid, so please forgive me if it does…How do you manage to stay lean? I mean that I see you drink beer, you cook, and I imagine eat corned beef hash that you cooked, and yet you are not pushing maximum density. I put on a few KG due to good ol’ homebrew.

This is a bummer. The only things you can do are either place your fermenter in a large sink with cool water, and add ice, or change the water to keep it cool Monitor the temp of the beer with a stick on thermometer. OR you can use a spare fridge (ya, everyone’s got one of them lying around) and set it to a high temp, like 22 or so. It’s more work and money, but you’re working against Mother Nature, and that’s all you can do.

Hi Craig, love your videos I tried my first brew a week ago but it was awfull. The problem I have is keeping the fermenter under 30 degrees celcius. I am in Australia and at the moment 26 27 degrees is as cool as it gets. Would you have any suggestions?

Craig this is one of your better videos you have done in a while the conversation you enveloped us in was so interesting from start to finish, I even forgot about the time length of the video it was so interesting, keep coming with these taste test videos, I have joined the party and done a few taste test videos myself,I really enjoy doing them and enjoy watching yours to. So take good care my friend and I will see you soon. Cheers

Hey Craig. The experiment you did with the wine, giving it a second carbonation stage, doesn’t that technically make it a cider than? Or is cider something else?

Hi Craig
I am from the uk and just started home brewing I love watching the vids and have learnt alot from them. At the minute i am trying my hand at a sparkling wine, and I am thinking about using the methode champonise. I thought u might find this an interesting experiment to do in the future. Also you can still start a secondary fermentation if bentonite has been used.
Keep up the vids

Those bottles are fine for beer. I prefer 1 L because once you open a 2 L, it starts to go flat unless you drink the whole thing.

Hey craig, just have a couple quick questions and comments. First off i bought a nice big hookah not to long ago and love it! you gave me the drive to finally go out and get one lol. second i used to brew my own home brew beers and i would just bottle them into small carboys. my question is if i wash out a 2L coke bottle would it seal enough to let if carbonate?

My website is now craigfarraway (dot) com. I just got that domain the other day. Now I just have to place all the products on the page, and make new, updated brewing videos.

I would say, with good sanitation, up to a year. That’s just a guess.

Hi Craig, love your videos. I would like to know, whats the shelf life of homemade beer and wines? Thanks
February 24th, 2010 at 10:35 pm
If you take reading from the spigot, doesn’t that open you up for contamination? Won’t the residual beer left in there attract bacteria? How are you flushing or sanitizing the spigot before bottling?

Craig thanks for another great video. Glad you and takesomeadvice were able to come together and just hang out. I cannot wait to see more videos. Any updates regarding your website? Thanks again for all the work you put into these videos. Cheers!

Do you mean bentonite? I’m not sure if you can carbonate after you clear your wine.
